Finally, I’ve left Facebook for good.

It’s been getting worse day by day. I’ve been an active Facebook user since 2009, back in high school. I still remember the day one of my friends (forgot his name, it was that long ago) created a Facebook profile for me. Things were different back then. I had a Nokia N73, and my main social app was Mig33. Many of you probably never heard of it. It was like an early version of Discord, with chatrooms and a level system. I grinded my way up to Level 52.

Fast forward to September 25, 2025, at exactly 2:27 AM. I finally did it. I quit Facebook.

Why I Left Facebook

1. Everyone is a “content creator” now
Back then, people posted for fun. Now it feels like everyone, even the ones I admired, is chasing views, monetization, and algorithm approval. The posts don’t feel genuine anymore. It’s less about sharing and more about performing. If want to watch videos, I have Youtube.

2. Politics and news overload
I follow fashion and tech magazines for updates, and for serious news I have proper subscriptions. That is enough for me. But Facebook keeps force-feeding politics and random “breaking news” I never asked for. Maybe it’s the algorithm, maybe it’s Zuckerberg’s recent political tilt. Either way, it’s exhausting and most of it fake anyways.

3. The AI slop
Yes, I used filters before, I’ll admit it. Before iPhone 17 Pro Max, almost every picture of mine was taken with “vivid” mode on. But this is different. People are now generating AI images of themselves as fashion models, vacationing in Milan, or walking Paris Fashion Week, all without leaving their desks.

Like… I saw a coworker in the office today, then the same evening he was posting an “AI vacation” photo from Monaco. What am I supposed to say the next day? “Nice trip”? It’s just absurd.

4. I don’t need Facebook to stay connected
Honestly, I don’t even use it to talk to people anymore. I call friends directly, use Telegram, and most of my clients are on WhatsApp. Facebook doesn’t serve any purpose in my communication anymore.

And that is it. I was never a show-off guy, and the rise of AI fakery was the final nail in the coffin. Facebook no longer feels real, and I don’t miss it.
